Saved places and recent searches stay available during a trip and sync across devices on the same Apple ID.
Local name, local map, one tap. Local Link is built for the moment when you know a place by sound or spelling, but not by the search text that works locally.

"When you travel, the hard part is often not the map. It is knowing what to type into the map."

About the app Local Link helps turn overseas place names into search candidates that work better in the region you are visiting. Choose a country and city, type what you know, then open the right map flow with a better local search term.
It is useful when a place name is written in another script, heard by sound, or typed in a Romanized form. One input can produce original, Romanized, local-script, and alternate spelling candidates, then send them to Apple Maps, Google Maps, Naver Map, KakaoMap, or Amap.

How It Works

1.
Choose the country and city you are visiting
2.
Type the name you heard, the Romanized spelling, or the local script
3.
Local Link generates search candidates
4.
Open the result in Apple Maps, Google Maps, Naver Map, KakaoMap, or Amap
5.
Save places you will need again
2,800+ aliases across 8 countries.
Stations, landmarks, markets, malls, chain stores, airports, ferries, and bus terminals across Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Cross-mapped local names.
Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Romanized, and local-script variants are connected into better search candidates.

Different map apps need different search text.

Global maps often work better with English city and country context. Local maps often work better with local city names and native-script queries. Local Link prepares the search text for the map you open.
Map app routing Supports Apple Maps, Google Maps, Naver Map, KakaoMap, and Amap, with web fallback where available.

Developer Note

Local Link is a travel utility that works without a server or external package. It does not try to track where you are. It focuses on transforming the place name you type into a better regional map search.
No server. No account. No ads. No tracking. No location permission required. Saved places and recent searches stay on device, and sync through iCloud when enabled on the same Apple ID.
